Talking about Harapan’s errors during its rule of the country, I think its greatest flaw is its failure to use its position as the ruling power to enlighten the Malay mind from one that has been ingrained with racist ideology through decades of Umno’s misrule.
Without this mindset change, the country can’t move forward and we can’t break free from our lethargic economy, which will in turn dissuade the Malays to accept change.
To overcome this vicious circle, the two – mindset change and economic uplift – must go together.
Hence, when Anwar takes over the leadership of the country, he must launch these two agenda simultaneously as the top priority.
Of course, success will not come unless such strategy is accompanied by all round institutional reforms to improve governance and rule of law.”
