Impartial?

A Press report covers an interview between the paper and one ISHAM JALAIL, described as the “Special Officer” to the Prime Minister.

That description in itself is of much more interest than what Isham had to say. Are not civil servants forbidden from engaging openly in politics? Are they not neutral where political matters are concerned? Or are “special officers” not paid civil servants? Privately paid from 1MDB thefts and other political corruption?

As it happened the interview in question was used by Isham to make a whole string of unconvincing promises beginning with one not to destroy any more Temples! A more effective way of soliciting Hindu votes would be to say that if BN win GE14 we will build you new temples, grander than before.

During the election campaign these and other promises will be bandied about by BN like the money which they will also be offering for votes. That latter campaign was given wide publicity by one Noh, recently photographed distributing cash for votes. Don’t “Special Officers” have bags for cash too?
