Judicial Corruption

According to reports MACC chief Latheefa Koya stated that a number of complaints alleging bribery involving members of the Judiciary had been received; by her agency one assumes.

If that number related to the Najib era one would be surprised that it was so small. But under the present government it must ring alarm bells. For one thing if corruption among the judiciary is that prevalent what can be the figures for the rest of the public service? Director Latheefa Koya did not comment on that aspect of the matter but she should, and soon. The public are anxious to learn if this alleged surge in corruption is limited or widespread.

Even handed justice is a cornerstone of society and any suggestion that this is not so in Malaysia calls for urgent and profound investigation. The MACC Director should assure the public that this is being done.
