Former Attorney General Apandi Ali is reported as announcing that he is going to sue over dismissal from the post.
Without going too closely into his professional competence it has to be wondered how he thinks himself able to proceed. Attorneys General are appointed and removed in accordance with the Constitution which provides that they are appointed by the Agong on the advice of the Prime Minster and dismissed by the head of State. That is what happened to Apandi so who is he going to sue?
Or is it just a publicity exercise on the part of someone who has, correctly, been forgotten as a minor part the Najib maladministration of Malaysia? As many a soldier has discovered; don’t stick your head above the parapet or it may get shot off!
