Cross-examined by Shahnaz’s lawyer, Akbardin Abdul Kader at the Shariah High Court today, Mahmud Abu Bekir also denied that the reason he kept going away from his wife and son for extended periods of time was because he was fooling around with other women.

When asked if he had any relationship with any woman other than his wife between 1992 and 1999, Mahmud Abu Bekir said that he had met a woman from Australia while she was attending a religious course in Singapore in 1999.
